This year's Annual Community Gala was our most successful yet, raising over $200,000 to support Xiente's programs and services for Philadelphia families.
Xiente's Annual Community Gala, held at the Philadelphia Museum of Art's Great Hall, brought together more than 400 supporters, community members, and civic leaders for an evening of celebration, storytelling, and generosity — raising a record $200,000 for Xiente's programs.
An Evening of Impact
The evening featured remarks from Philadelphia Mayor Cherelle Parker, testimonials from Xiente program participants, and a live auction of experiences donated by Philadelphia's arts and culture community. The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Norris Square Community Award to three long-time Xiente volunteers who have collectively contributed over 5,000 hours of service.
"Forty-five years ago, a group of neighbors decided that their community deserved better. Tonight, we celebrate how far we've come — and recommit to how far we still have to go." — Xiente Board Chair
How the Funds Will Be Used
- $75,000 toward expanding the Mi Casa affordable housing initiative
- $50,000 for Early Education program scholarships and materials
- $40,000 to launch a new digital literacy curriculum for workforce development
- $35,000 for the Guaranteed Income pilot expansion
We are deeply grateful to every sponsor, donor, and volunteer who made this evening possible. Special thanks to our presenting sponsor, Truist Foundation, and to the dozens of community partners who have walked alongside Xiente for decades.
Mark your calendars — the 2024 Annual Community Gala will be held in October 2024. Stay tuned to xiente.org/events for details.
